If we are in a budget shortfall, I understand looking for ways to close that gap. But cutting into service levels that our residents expect when we need first responders is unconscionable. How can we continue vanity projects like the Pruneridge study if we as a city are experiencing shortfalls in the budget? This project needs to be postponed until economic conditions improve. How about reviewing increasing TOT since Measure E passed last fall? Now is the time to review our hotel TOT. Thank you.

With >57M in base reserves & >300M in all reserves, I am outraged that public safety would be proposed as a reduction putting citizens' lives at risk. In the last recession reserves dipped far below where they are now & no engine brown out occurred. We should tap further into the reserves before cutting public safety. Every minute counts when our citizens call 911 in an emergency. I implore Council not to proceed with the proposed public safety cuts and instead dip further into reserves.
