4.P 21-233 Action on a Resolution Authorizing the Filing of an Application with the Metropolitan Transportation Commission for Allocation of Transportation Development Act Article 3, Pedestrian and Bicycle Project Funding for Fiscal Year 2021/22
As a former air traffic control software engineer & manager I want to draw attention to the fact that, if stoplight or stop sign infrastructure can differentiate bikes from cars, future automation can extend to bikes as well as cars. For example, an addition to a bike can alert a bicyclist that he or she must start braking so as to properly stop in appropriate places & this can decrease accidents where bikes are at-fault. Of course there is a low tech solution: completely Isolate bikes & cars.
