The VTA's current design plans for the Santa Clara Station are insufficient and the agreement along with the amendment do not allow the City to provide adequate feedback to VTA on the station and yard design. The design for the station, with an adjacent parking lot with no ground-floor activation points creates an uninviting and pedestrian unfriendly space contradicting ToD principles and working against all the community is working towards to make Santa Clara an exciting and inviting station.
