We need a long term comprehensive parking solution, not a patch that can be undone by the Fuji Florist /1601 Civic Center Drive projects."1601", project has an insanely low 0.7 parking spaces per unit ( total= 72 spaces ) for 106 units (1,2,3 bedrooms). There will be a shortage of 100+ spaces when/if these 2 projects are completed. Charities Housing has all but refused to accept our 1 parking space per bedroom proposal. Diagonal parking narrows the street & increases risk of vandalism.
I strongly oppose the change to diagonal parking! It will narrow the street and dangerous for pedestrians. Please install green/red lights/stop signs at all cross roads.
The parking in front of 7-story condominium building at 1700 CIVIC CENTER needs to REMAIN "LOADING ZONE" with yellow curb.
Dozens of deliveries are made 7-days per week at this location; filling this side of the street with diagonally parked cars -- which WILL be filled 24/7 -- causing delivery drivers to cross the street with packages or squeeze between parked cars to enter our building is not a safe or good idea.

Thank you.
I strongly oppose the change to diagonal parking. This is not a adequate solution for the safety of the residents. It will narrow the street and create more danger for traffic and pedestrians. The reality is the 0.7 required parking spaces is ridiculously inadequate for this location, there are hardly any available spaces for 2 blocks, adding this volume of cars and traffic is detrimental to this specific location. The obvious solution is the developer needs to provide sufficient parking.
I oppose diagonal parking, it is unsafe and just a band-aid. We need comprehensive review and better planning. This is also a very good example of how City underestimated parking and other infrastructure needs when it approved all these developments. Any future development should provide ample parking for residents and guests.
Kindly keep this in mind when proposed 106-unit development at 1601 Civic Center Dr, with only 72 parking comes up for discussion and let developer worry about the costs.
This is not a comprehensive solution, but a patch that will start bleeding again once the Fuji Florist and/or upcoming projects will be completed. Furthermore if the 1601 Civic Center Dr. project is approved, the 0.7 parking space per unit will aggravate matters more. The narrower Civic Center Drive with diagonally parked cars at risk of being vandalized more easily. Council should consider a comprehensive neighborhood wide proposal and have enough onsite parking within planned developments.
This proposal makes no meaningful impact on the parking problem that we have at the cost of the safety of the residents. The parking lot belongs to the united methodist church which is private property and not available to the public. 1601 Civic Center Dr. proposed project with 0.7 parking spaces per unit. We request City to hold such new development responsible for providing necessary and adequate parking for their residents. For example, make use of underground parking.
I oppose diagonal parking as it will narrow the street and make it all the more difficult to see the oncoming vehicles which coming out of the property. This will increase the chances of accidents.
I oppose this proposal of Civic Center Dr. diagonal parking. First of all, each space costs $12,000 to built, it's too high of a cost. Secondly, backing out from a diagonal parking adds risk to cars being rear-ended. Moreover, it makes Civic Center Dr. a narrower street. I think this proposal lowers the quality of life and adds safety risks for Civic Center Dr. residents. This is a short-sighted plan for adding measly spaces. I propose adding more on-site parking to planned development instead.

I oppose the action on the Warburton Avenue. Installing diagonal parking will narrow the street and increase safety problems. And it costs a lot.
