9. 22-531 Action on a Written Petition (Council Policy 030) Submitted by Nick Valencia Requesting to Place an Agenda Item at a Future Council Meeting to Discuss the future of the BMX track located on city property at 5451 Lafayette Street
Joey, Nick & Marisa put in a lot of blood & sweat making this track a top-notch facility for kids & all kids alike. Their work was always done with the utmost passion for the sport and the community. We & our son, Samuel (SCPAL poster boy #707) have always taken great pride in this facility. I urge you to please re-instate their positions & re-open the track under USA BMX sanctions. Let's get Santa Clara back on the map for being one of the best places to race BMX! - Jeremy & Leilani DelaCruz
Our family has been traveling to SCPAL for years to rCe and with Nick Valencia at the helm, this facility went from one of the worst, to one of the best in the country. His (and his teams) understanding of the sport and his technical understanding of track building and maintenance have set SCPal BMX above and beyond. In 6 years, I have never seen an officer there to represent the PAL group, or a board member who was not a part of the operation team.
