I'd like to see the off leash dog area moved out of south east corner of the park which abuts the linear park slated for phase 2. With that small tweak I would fully support the updated park design. The park is an improvement to what was originally proposed and example of how taking community feedback for our parks improves the outcome for the community.

There are two Phases of this development but the park focuses on the Phase 1 retail locations and the "Someday Hotel". This park needs to create a "True Gateway", at the corner of Chastain Pl. and Wondo Wy. The focus should be how to create a park that "draws" people into the development to explore, socialize, and spend their dollars in Santa Clara before going to a soccer game or work in San Jose. Slide the dog park over to the planting area to allow the main corner to become the "Gateway".

Synthetic turf should not be put in any park, even for dogs. Besides high carbon footprint in plastic manufacturing, https://bit.ly/3na1QPH, temperatures above synthetic turf are 40-120°F above that of vegetation or even asphalt (https://bit.ly/3Nmd8LL - see "surface temperature"). When it's 90°F outside, it can be 130-210°F above plastic grass. Also see this New York Times piece, https://nyti.ms/39IhoY3 stating "... there are serious environmental problems ... and the costs ... proved so high."
