Please kindly adopt the study. El Camino Real is one of the most dangerous yet vital roads not only for drivers, but also for pedestrians and bicyclists. Quite frankly, I am afraid not only to bicycle but even to drive on that road. With all the high speed traffic and 3+ lanes in each direction if feels more like a highway than a city road. Let's make it safe for all users.

I request the City Council to adopt this study. There is a need for an East to West corridor that is safe for bicyclists. This is necessary for Santa Clara residents, in addition to with those from neighboring cities who need to travel through the city. If Council is committed to reducing GHG emissions as indicated in the Climate Action Plan, a safe, protected bicycle route along El Camino will encourage people to bike instead of drive, particularly those who are interested but concerned.
