I live in Sunnyvale less than half a mile from the proposed project location. I strongly oppose this proposal. A neighborhood with high density of residences, school and school age children is the worst possible choice for a low barrier housing project. Please consider a different non residential location.

    Please read this report: https://www.mercurynews.com/2022/09/25/tiny-homes-and-homelessness-what-the-data-shows/
I don't see any reason why this project would do better.

I live in Santa Clara with my family. And I strongly oppose building a homeless facility near Benton. It is extremely unsafe for families nearby.

I strongly oppose. As a concerned citizen, I am troubled by the lack of safe, affordable housing options for the homeless population in our community. Having spoken with some of the individuals who use our local homeless shelters, I have heard firsthand accounts of overcrowding, inadequate facilities, and limited access to basic necessities like food, clothing, and medical care. It is clear that the current situation is unacceptable and demands urgent attention.

I STRONGLY OPPOSE to this proposal!!! This location is too close to lots of schools with young kids. Building a sheltering house here definitely increases the safety concern to the neighborhood!

We cannot support the low-income housing proposal in our neighborhood due to concerns about increased crime rates and the waste of taxpayer money. The proposed development lacks adequate security measures, which could result in a higher crime rate in our area. Additionally, the development would require significant investment of taxpayer funds for infrastructure improvements, which we believe could be better utilized elsewhere.

Without strict background check, this leads to a lot of safety concerns.

Strongly oppose this project. This is a huge safety issue for our neighborhood.

Why can't we help homeless without ruining hardworking middle class people's neighborhood and lives.

    Move it some other place,

    Strongly oppose it because
1 It’s Too close to multiple elementary schools
2 The serious lessons of deterioration of public safety surrounding the neighborhood after such shelter established in other locations
3 It won’t solve the homeless issues.

Solving homeless issues shouldn’t be done by sacrificing the stability and security of the existing neighborhood.

I strongly oppose this proposal. Building a homeless shelter at the busy intersection of Benton and Lawrence Expy would endanger those residing there and the local traffic. This shelter would only serve as a political cover up ("we fight homelessness") but not solve the related issues of drug abuse, poverty, and mental illness.
