We live very close to the proposed site and I strongly oppose the Benton shelter project in Santa Clara. There are definitely better alternatives to help the homeless than building a shelter in this location. With so many schools around, it could have negative effects on safety for children and neighborhood as a whole.
Please take our concerns into account and reconsider this proposal.
I am a resident of Santa Clara city, and I am strongly against the Benton&Lawrence shelter. This will pose a high risk for our community and especially to the children's safety as the shelter is close to several schools near that area.
I am writing to express my strong opposition about the Benton proposal for a low barrier homeless shelter. The homeless shelter will bring to our neighborhood drugs and related crimes, vandalism.
It is deeply disappointing that the city council has chosen to ignore and misunderstand our community's concerns.
Hello, I'm living in Santa Clara with my family. I oppose the Benton Low Barrier shelter. We need more mental health facilities and treatment to support the homeless, not more housing.
I strongly oppose this Benton Low Barrier shelter. LifeMoves and the city only care about the money. They don’t care about our community. They put us in danger.
The new proposal is horrible. It keeps no-screening procedures but plans to put innocent kids next to sex offenders and people with drug addiction, just in order to get a high score for funding. LufeMoves put kids in danger on purpose and ruin their entire life! Shame on LifeMoves!

This is a huge safety issue for our neighborhood!

I live on Benton, one block from the proposed shelter site. I strongly oppose this proposal as it will make our neighborhoods not safe anymore.
