The data that the County and City keep citing regarding the number of calls declining in San Jose after the shelter was built is highly misleading. This is because the visualized data is heavily skewed by only one site which is still under construction. Number of calls is extremely high for all the in-operation sites. Additionally, the data has changed in terms of the types of crimes reported, intentionally excluding more serious crime types such as rape, sexual assault, theft, or robbery.

    Please Vote NO.
Just look at shelters already in operation near us. All numbers point to FAILURE!
NO need for more failure of the same. The funding can be better used for the homeless people; they deserve better!
    We deserve better.

Say NO to LifeMoves, say NO to council member that do not exercise accountability to our tax money. Billionaire John Sobrato funded this LifeMoves to move the homeless here instead of next to his investment properties!!!

There are hiding info from Last Meeting! County did not release the floor plan etc to the public! This is incorrect! Public needs the time to know and question those info! Please Vote no!

The LifeMoves doesn’t have detailed plans supporting mental health or safety maintenance, because they don’t care. They don’t care Santa Clara residents’ safety, they don’t care homeless people safety, they don’t care how much money we need to pay.

This is just a money grab for the shelter operators.

    Please vote NO.

    Dear Mayor and Council Members:

    Please VOTE NO!

The City of Santa Clara clearly should not rush to partner with LifeMoves and the County, after what they have demonstrated, that they would basically do anything, misinformation and all, just to get our City hooked. If the City decided to go forward with this proposal, it will open a bottomless big hole in our city budget for years to come.

    Terrible Site Choice
The location of homeless shelter on Benton/Lawrence violates Santa Clara County's general plan rules for ensuring Health and Safety.Lawrence Expwy traffic is 50mph. Cars entering/exiting proposed site would back up westsward Benton traffic into Lawrence. Also backup traffic exiting Lawrence onto Benton. This creates 2 Catastrophic Hazard Severity Levels. Many schoolchildren will be endangered by transients. No bus or light rail services. Cars required for grocery shopping.

There are many facts indicated that this location is wrongly selected. Actually there is no job in the residential area for homeless people. Most jobs are in commercial and business areas. Councilmember Suds said homeless people will look for jobs on El Camino Real. This is purely an assumption. No data has yet to support more homeless people get jobs on El Camino than in any other areas. Even not yet any data to support homeless people ever get jobs on El Camino.

    Please Vote NO!

Homeless shelter in the middle of 15 schools don't make any sense.

    Don't sacrifice our children!

There are so many reasons to oppose. Funding this would set Santa Clara City back quite bit not just now but for 30 years. The size is still 90 bedrooms with caveats of changing to singles/couples if required (similar to first couple of proposals). It still does not have any background checks or screening so the impact to neighborhood safety is still quite a lot. Parcel is in flood zone so not sure how it could be CEQA exempt. Bus stop is more than 0.5 miles. Vast majority say "No" in unison.
