These funding, our tax money, are dedicated to helping the homeless. Since homeless people are not in a position to operate the shelter, we must be diligent and not waste their funding.
Need to partner with a more reliable operator and with a better model. Our City can do much better than just blindly go along with the flawed County proposal.

Does City have a budget to enhance the manpower of first responders, law enforcement, first aids, street sanitation, etc.?
It is a sad fact that the crime rate increased significantly after the opening of the existing shelters in their communities with a good intention of residing homeless people in residential areas and providing them access to all kinds of community services. Does the City have any plan to prevent the increase in the crime rate in our community with a new shelter?
I strongly oppose to build the shelter at this location. Building it here would be a shame and a complete negligence of the voice of the residents of Santa Clara city.
We strongly oppose the low-barrier interim housing proposed at Benton Street & Lawrence Expressway.
In light of the many issues raised during the public hearing, and the overwhelming opposition from the community, we ask that the City of Santa Clara vote NO on the Proposed Homeless Shelter at Benton Street & Lawrence Expressway.
There are so many reasons to oppose. It still does not have any background checks or screening so the impact to neighborhood safety is still quite a lot. Parcel is in flood zone so not sure how it could be CEQA exempt. Bus stop is more than 0.5 miles. Vast majority say "No" in unison.
Please vote No.
We are counting on YOU

Homeless shelter in the middle of 15 schools don't make any sense.
Don't sacrifice our children!
