I believe that writing a check (let say $5000/Month each person) directly to the homeless people each month is a better solution than this proposed Benton Shelter. We can help more people with the same amount of funding. The homeless are not limited to the shelter; they can go where ever they want. They will truly blend in with the community where ever they reside.
Please vote no and look into the direct funding to homeless.
These funding, our tax money, are dedicated to helping the homeless. Since homeless people are not in a position to operate the shelter, we must be diligent and not waste their funding.
Need to partner with a more reliable operator and with a better model. Our City can do much better than just blindly go along with the flawed County proposal.

Get a more reliable operator with a better model. Our City can do much better than just blindly go along with the flawed County proposal.
Our fact-checking has revealed several discrepancies in the county's claims. They have insisted that no one would walk by the shelter, but pedestrian paths with regular foot traffic exist in the area. Contradicting their claims, the location is far from essential amenities and public transportation. There's no guarantee the shelter will house Santa Clara's homeless, and the presence of a liquor store across the street may exacerbate issues for those battling mental illnesses and drug addictions.
I strongly Oppose the proposed shelter Benton at Lawrence.
a)This is absolutely the Wrong location for homeless shelter.
b) Consistently 80% - 95% community residents strongly oppose Benton shelter
c) The LifeMoves presentations on Tuesday were full of ambiguous, misleading, and false information.
d) If this proposal went through, this will be second shelter in the same neighborhood, in additional to three affordable housings.
