I strong support 12A to build a neighborhood park. This will bring peaceful and improve the safety of this area. This area is already too crowded, a lot of local crimes, constructing affordable housing will make the situation even worse.

I support to add this to the agenda. Not sure why this would need a petition given this was on the agenda at the last council meeting. There are several high density homes in Santa Clara and Adding more in an already congested area of Santa Clara is going to make local crime, parking AMD vehicular traffic worse than before.

Strongly support the written petition. We need more parks around to continue building a peaceful neighborhood.
Constructing affordable housing brings no good except arising more insecure activities like drug use, the homeless roam.

This project will only add to the congestion and lack of parking in the neighborhood. There is already a lot of homeless activity and possible drug use in the church parking lot right next to this project, and a low income project will only invite more of this. Promoting low income housing will bring housing prices down and make our neighborhood less desirable compared to other areas of Santa Clara with upscale new buildings

I support the petition because the high density project at 1601 Civic Centre will cause more issue with parking, green area, safety and so on. The city should find other better places for home building but definitely not within existing neighborhood.

Strongly support the petition .High density project at 1601 Civic Centre is NOT feasible with no adequate space ,parking and green area.
Charity housing worked behind our back and pushed the project ,we residents caught unaware.
Fully support a park in the area.

I support the petition to build a park in the neighborhood I am living. The whole neighborhood already tolerate limited parking and activities areas, a park is the best way to relieve this situation. And the neighbors have more chance to do activities especially due to covid conditions. It would be great to have more outdoor area.

I am writing to support more home building in Santa Clara. I am a Santa Clara resident, native, and voter currently serving my country overseas. Every time I return home some of my friends have been forced out by high rents. I am worried that with my salary I will be left with no home to go back to. Please allow homes to be built.

I am a resident at 1690 Civic Center Drive since 2002. I am a bit concerned that such a large development proposal to both amend the General Plan as well as re-zone the parcel in question has been put forth with a) no input from local residents and b) without any consideration of alternative options for use of the space. Allowing developers to approach City Council carte blanche with high-density development projects without any due regard for local citizens "QoL" needs to stop. -Eric Lee

Too many waivers are asked for. This is a for-profit company playing on emotion to try to get financial advantage. Don't fall for it -- the rules are there for a reason.

Representing an home owners association in this area. Parking is already a huge challenge.

I'm a neighboring HOA member, and I support this written petition. Our area is extremely congested for parking already, and there aren't really any good parks very close by given the density of our housing.

I am a BMR condo owner and neighboring HOA Board Member. I am for affordable housing for all. I am opposed to the development at 1601 Civic Center because the current plan has inadequate parking and the building is much taller than the neighboring residential buildings. The neighboring multi-family complexes already have inadequate parking, and street parking is already tight. Also, our neighborhood school has an 80% low income rate. Why are all the poor put in the the same space in Santa Clara?
